Mogadishu, Somalia – On the occasion of the International Day against the Use of Child Soldiers, UNICEF Somalia is calling on the public to raise their red hand to show their support for the rights of children in Somalia.

UNICEF works tirelessly to end the recruitment, killing, and maiming of children by armed groups in Somalia. The use of child soldiers is a serious violation of children’s rights and has a devastating impact on their lives. These children are often forced to participate in violent acts and are exposed to physical and psychological harm.

The #RaiseYourRed Hand campaign is an opportunity for the public to show their support for the rights of children in Somalia and to raise awareness about the devastating impact of the use of child soldiers. By raising their red hand, people are sending a message that children should not be used as instruments of war and that their future should be protected.

On this International Day against the Use of Child Soldiers, UNICEF is calling on the international community to come together to end this practice and to protect the rights of children everywhere. #ChildrenNotSoldiers.
