(23-10-23) GAROWE — Puntland Police Commissioner Gen. Mumin Abdi Shire met with representatives from the Swedish government and the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) on Monday to discuss the development and modernisation of the Puntland Police Force.

An official statement released by the Puntland Police Command noted that the meeting was aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), with special emphasis on countering money laundering and cyber crimes. The discussions also covered operational aspects of the force.

The meeting was attended by several notable figures including the Deputy Commander of the Police Force and Head of Training. In addition, Philip Nateka and Yohan, UNSOM police advisors, and Amino Abdi, UNSOM’s Gender Advisor, were present.

During the talks, Gen. Shire briefed the attendees on the accomplishments of the Puntland Police Force over the past year and shared the force’s future vision.
