(31-07-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Reports from the Galgaduud region indicate that a landmine explosion occurred in Gawaan area, near El Dheer district, resulting in the death and injury of civilians. The landmine explosion killed one person and injured another. The deceased, a young man identified as Aways Cali Guure, was reportedly Butugeey. The injured individual was transported to a hospital in El Dheer.
Local Macawiisley forces in El Dheer district told the media that the landmine was planted by Al-Shabaab to inflict harm on civilians and security forces. Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) explosions continue to pose a security threat against people in Somalia.
