(30 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Somali National Army (SNA) carried out a road security operation in the Bay region of South West State on Sunday. The operation aims to secure key roads connecting the Bay, Bakool, and Gedo regions.
Captain Ahmed Moallin Abdirahman, Commander of the 8th Brigade of the SNA’s 60th Division, led the operation. He said the forces would continue their campaign until all main roads affected by Al-Shabaab’s insecurity acts are reopened and secured.
The operation aligns with increased military operations against Al-Shabaab across multiple regions of Somalia. South West, Jubaland, and Galmudug states have intensified their military efforts to liberate areas under the control of the militant group and to prevent its return to newly liberated territories.
