(27 Oct 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somalia’s Police Commissioner Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi has expressed deep gratitude to the Somali public for their steadfast support of the Police Force in maintaining national safety, stability, and security. Brigadier General Abdullahi highlighted the public’s essential role in strengthening the security of the capital during the recent welcoming ceremony for Türkiye’s research vessel, Oruc Reis, at the Port of Mogadishu. This cooperation, he noted, reflects the Somali Police Force’s commitment to fostering a strong partnership with the public.
Oruc Reis arrived off the coast of Somalia to conduct seismic surveys for oil and natural gas in three licensed areas. The vessel will perform three-dimensional seismic studies over approximately seven months, collecting data to be analyzed in Ankara to identify potential drilling sites.
The Police Chief urged all police units to intensify their vigilant efforts against potential threats. It underscored the importance of close collaboration between citizens and the Somali Police Force to ensure the nation’s security and peace.
