(28-12-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somali security forces have arrested several individuals, including the governor of Elbaraf district, traditional elders, and other suspects, in connection with the recent deadly ambush on Somali National Army soldiers.
The arrests come in the wake of a deadly attack that claimed the lives of multiple soldiers in the Elbaraf district of the Middle Shabelle region. The Ministry of Defence had previously issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the apprehension of those responsible, along with a stern warning against obstructing the investigation or shielding the perpetrators.
Officials involved in the operation confirmed that the arrested individuals will face the full force of the law. In a swift response, the Hirshabelle state administration suspended the entire Elbaraf district administration, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
