(16 Feb 2025) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — At least two people have been killed in an attack near Dhuusamareeb, the capital of Somalia’s Galmudug state, in what is believed to be a clan-related incident.
Armed militias reportedly carried out the attack last night in the village of Galo, about 40km from Dhuusamareeb.
Two young men were killed, including one identified as Mohamed Shaakir, and another person was injured, according to reports.
Galmudug authorities have not yet commented on the attack.
Residents expressed fears of further violence, and the situation is described as tense, with reports of armed mobilization in the area.
Central Somalia has a history of inter-clan conflict, with frequent clashes and killings.
