Somalia’s Information Minister, Daud Aweis Jama, has lauded the unveiling of the National Congress of the newly formed Justice and Solidarity Party as a landmark event in the country’s democratic journey. Speaking after the launch, Jama emphasised that the establishment of the party symbolises a renewed commitment to political pluralism and national unity under the leadership of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
“This is a historic milestone for Somalia,” Jama said. “It reflects our unwavering resolve to build democratic institutions and promote inclusive governance after decades of political challenges. The Justice and Solidarity Party represents a new chapter for Somalia, where democratic participation and national unity go hand in hand.”
The minister further highlighted ongoing voter registration efforts led by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, underscoring that the upcoming elections will be a testament to Somalia’s commitment to holding free, fair, and transparent polls. Jama urged the Somali people to actively participate in the electoral process, describing it as a critical step toward a more stable and prosperous future.
