(14 May 2025) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni is set to hold a closed-door meeting on Wednesday with business leaders in Bossaso to discuss the region’s economic challenges. The Puntland Presidency issued a written notice to the business community, advising that the meeting would take place at Citycot University and focus on the economic downturn affecting Puntland.
While no detailed agenda was shared, sources indicate that President Deni will address concerns over market stagnation and outline potential economic recovery measures. He is also expected to brief attendees on the ongoing Al Miskat operation against the Islamic State in Somalia (ISIS) militants and appeal for increased financial support for the campaign. President Deni has been in the Bari regional capital since December 2024, overseeing the fight against ISIS.
