(05 May 2025) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni, who has decided not to take part in the National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting in Mogadishu is reportedly planning a parallel summit focused on Somalia’s future.
Speaking while in Bosaso, President Deni told members of his administration on Sunday night that claims he was heading to Mogadishu under international pressure were not correct.
Reliable sources close to the Puntland leader confirmed he is organising a conference in Garowe aimed at addressing Somalia’s political crisis. The planned summit will bring together opposition figures to Villa Somalia, members of both houses of the Federal Parliament, and representatives from the Jubaland administration.
