Puntland State of Somalia has called on the public to remain alert as Al Miskat clearance operation enters its final phase. In a statement, the Puntland Police Command said air and ground forces are working together to eliminate remaining terrorist elements in the area. It warned that some fugitives may try to hide among civilians to avoid capture.
“The operation in Al Miskat is progressing well, with security forces jointly working to secure the area and remove the last remnants of ISIS,” the statement read. Authorities said preparations are under way to block any possible escape routes and urged residents to be vigilant as militants may attempt to blend in with the community.
