(30-09-25) MOGADISHU (HN) — Deputy Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi Mohamed, on Sunday presided over the launch of a training programme on preventing violence against women and children at Mogadishu’s Gen. Kahiye Police Academy. The course is set to run for a short period.
In his remarks, the Deputy Commander underscored the paramount importance of safeguarding the rights of citizens, with particular emphasis on children and women. He also stressed the pressing need to recruit and deploy more professional female officers to police stations and other critical areas under the force’s mandate.
Brig. Gen. Osman urged the trainees, the majority of whom are female officers drawn from different units of the Police Force, to make the best use of the programme and to pass on the skills and knowledge gained to their colleagues across the service.
