The European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S) is empowering seven doctors from Xooga Somali Military Hospital with specialised knowledge on how to identify and treat rheumatologic diseases. This is described as a vital part of its mission to enhance operational readiness and provide long-term support for the Somali Armed Forces.
The initiative, according to EUTM-S, is a key part of its commitment to improving healthcare services and operational readiness for the Somali military. By helping doctors recognize early skin signs of rheumatologic diseases, the programme aims to enable timely diagnosis and treatment, preventing irreversible damage.
“We’re proud to support our Somali partners not just in the field, but also in building a healthier and stronger future for their personnel and the broader community,” the mission said.
