(09-09-25) MOGADISHU (HN) — Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohamed Abdulqadir Ali, has held a virtual meeting with Natalia Gherman, Executive Director of the UN Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate (UNCTED), to discuss joint efforts against extremism and terrorism.
The talks focused on tackling radical ideologies, countering terrorist recruitment, and strengthening cooperation on preventive measures.
Minister Ali emphasised that his ministry places great importance on protecting Somali youth from extremist ideologies, which he said pose one of the greatest threats to their future. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with international partners such as UNCTED to address these challenges.
