The Somali National Army’s 16th Battalion of the Danab Commandos has delivered humanitarian aid to vulnerable families in the recently liberated Awdheegle District, Lower Shabelle. The assistance, targeting households hardest hit by economic hardship, comes amid wider efforts by Danab to enhance civilian welfare alongside their military operations.
According to unit commanders, the initiative is designed not only to alleviate immediate suffering but also to foster stronger relations between the forces and local communities. They emphasised that Danab will continue prioritising support to areas struggling with poverty and insecurity, underscoring the role of the military as both a security provider and a partner in community resilience.
