The Somali National Army, Galmudug military, and local defence forces on Monday carried out an operation in southern Mudug against Al-Shabaab militants. The operation combined patrols with community outreach to reinforce cooperation between security forces and residents as part of efforts to root out the militants.
Military sources said the joint campaign demonstrated strong unity between national, regional, and local forces.
Major Abdirahman Nur Sahal, Deputy Commander of the 282nd Battalion, Captain Ahmed Abdi Adan (Kurunje), and Wisil District Commissioner Abdi-Najiib Hussein praised the troops for their courage and urged civilians to work closely with security forces to deny the militants space.
