Somalia’s Minister of Health and Social Care, Ali Haji Adam, participated in the 72nd session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, which opened in Cairo on Tuesday.
The annual gathering provides a key platform for regional health ministers to deliberate on shared challenges and opportunities in advancing public health. In his address, Dr. Adam underscored the impact of declining health funding on regional systems and urged stronger self-reliance and cooperation among member states to secure sustainable health services.
Somalia, he added, remains committed to regional collaboration and is intensifying efforts to meet both national and global health targets in step with evolving international priorities.
