Helsinki, Finland – The Federal Republic of Somalia’s Minister of Environment & Climate Change, Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, has arrived in Finland for a four-day work visit. The visit follows an invitation from the Finnish Minister of Environment & Climate Change.
During her trip, Minister Al-Makhzoumi will engage in discussions with Minister Maria Ohisalo on the challenges of climate change and the measures needed to address them. The two ministers will also explore ways to strengthen cooperation and collaboration between their countries on environmental issues.
Minister Al-Makhzoumi has expressed her hope that the discussions will lead to tangible outcomes that will help address the pressing issue of climate change. “I am excited to be here in Finland and to have the opportunity to engage with Minister Ohisalo on a topic that is so important to both our countries and the world,” said Minister Al-Makhzoumi.
“Climate change is a global challenge that requires international cooperation and collaboration. I believe that by working together, we can make a real difference in addressing this critical issue,” she added.
Minister Maria Ohisalo, who has been a strong advocate for the environment and climate action, welcomed Minister Al-Makhzoumi’s visit and expressed her excitement about the discussions. “It is an honour to host Minister Al-Makhzoumi here in Finland. Our countries have a lot in common when it comes to the environment, and I believe that our discussions will lead to meaningful results,” said Minister Ohisalo.
