(19-Feb-23) Mogadishu, Somalia – The Himilo party led by the former President of Somalia Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has openly opposed the extension of the Federal Government of Somalia. In a press release from the party, it was stated that the party is against any kind of extension.

The press release also called on the leaders of the Federal Government to uphold the law and refrain from trying to extend the period. This statement from Himilo comes at the same time as the discussions about the proposal to extend the current Federal Government of Somalia are increasing.

The statement from the Himilo Qaran Party comes at the same time as recent reports of a proposal to extend the term of the Somali government in the past few days.
