(24-Feb-23) Baghdad, Iraq – Speaker of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, has arrived in Baghdad, Iraq, with his delegation to attend the 34th session of the Arab Parliamentary Union. The Speaker was welcomed at the airport by the Somali ambassador to Iraq, Amb. Liban Sheikh Mohamud (Malingur).
Upon his arrival, the Speaker and his delegation were warmly welcomed by the Speaker of the Arab Parliamentary Union and the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mr. Muhamed Al-Halbousi. The delegation was then sent to the guest house where they will be staying during their visit.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the Federal Parliament of Somalia expressed his gratitude to his counterpart for the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation. This visit is an important opportunity for Somalia to strengthen ties with Iraq and the Arab world as a whole.
