Kismatyo, Somalia – The President of Jubaland State of Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Islam, recently oversaw the conclusion of a training session for the sixth batch of the Jubaland Police Force. The training, which took place at the Jubaland Police Academy in the Lower Juba region, was attended by 150 officers from various units, including anti-crime, criminal investigation, anti-violence, and special police.
The newly trained police force will be responsible for maintaining security in the areas recently liberated from terrorist groups by the Jubaland and national armed forces. The operations to secure the regions of Aw Kumbale, Shandarmood, Eelcad, Gubakibir, Canjeel, and Jana Abdalle have been successful and the police forces will now assume control over security in these areas.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Islam indicated that the ongoing operations will continue until all areas of Jubaland, particularly the capital city of Buale, are fully secured. He also emphasized that the police forces will take over security duties from the armed forces in all areas liberated from the Al-Shabaab group.
