(19-Feb-23) Mogadishu, Somalia – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government, Mr. Salah Ahmed Jama, unveiled the Somali Household Budget Survey report today, produced by the National Bureau of Statistics with the assistance of the World Bank.
This is the first time in 38 years that the National Bureau of Statistics, under the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, has presented the Somali family budget survey report. The report provides a number to measure the retention and ability of the community, which will be useful in realising the needs of the Somali people.
The event was attended by the Minister of Planning, Deputy Minister of Finance, Minister of Regional Governments, representatives from the World Bank, and Development Organizations. The launch of this report is expected to greatly contribute to the understanding of the needs of the Somali people and aid the efforts to improve their standard of living.
The unveiling of the Somali Household Budget Survey report marks a crucial step towards the betterment of the Somalis, and it is hoped that this report will serve as a useful resource for policymakers, researchers, and aid agencies alike.
