(03-03-23) Kismayo, Somalia –President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia visited Maleleye area under Jamame district in Lower Juba region today. The president, who is on a work trip to Jubaland state, observed the living conditions of the local community and attended a luncheon in honor of his delegation.
Jamame is an important agricultural, commercial, and industrial centre situated on the eastern bank of the lower Jubba River, 56 km to the south of Kismaayo. During his visit, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his delegation.
In addition to his visit to Jamame, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, together with the President of Jubaland, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Islam, laid the foundation stone for a road that connects Kismayo and Af-Madow districts in the Lower Juba region. The road, which is 120 kilometers long, will play a significant role in facilitating the flow of business and people and the development of economic infrastructure in the state of Jubaland.
The president called on businessmen, expatriates, and the general community of Jubaland to participate in the construction of this road, which is expected to bring many benefits to the region. The visit of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to Jubaland is seen as a positive step towards promoting cooperation and development between the federal government and the regional state.
