(29-03-23) Bosaso – A fierce battle has been raging between the terrorist militias of Al-Shabaab and Daesh-Somalia in the mountainous area of Al-Miskaad in the Bari region for the past few days. According to local reports, the ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties among both groups, with the majority of the fighting taking place over the last three days.

The Daesh-Somalia group has reportedly carried out more than six suicide bombings targeting Al-Shabaab fighters during this time, resulting in the deaths of at least 40 Al-Shabaab members, as confirmed by security sources.

This is not the first time that the two terrorist groups have clashed in the Bari region, where they both maintain a presence. Previous skirmishes have taken place in the mountainous areas, often putting the lives of local residents at risk.

Analysts believe that the infighting between these terrorist organizations may weaken their overall operational capabilities and may provide an opportunity for regional security forces to capitalize on the situation. While the exact cause of the conflict remains unclear, it is possible that disputes over resources, territorial control, or ideological differences have fueled the violence.

While the violence between Al-Shabaab and Daesh-Somalia is concerning, it may provide an opportunity for Somali forces to capitalize on the weakened state of both groups. As these terrorist organizations expend resources and manpower fighting one another, they may become more vulnerable to targeted operations by government forces and international allies. This situation could potentially pave the way for the restoration of peace and stability in the region, as well as the strengthening of governance and security structures to prevent future terrorist activities.
