(25-04-23) MOGADISHU – Top security officials, including the Governor of Banadir Region and the Mayor of Mogadishu, Mr Yusuf Hussein Jimale (Madaale), convened an emergency meeting in the Somali capital on Monday evening to discuss the reinforcement of security measures in the city.

The meeting, which took place at the Hamar Local Government House, was attended by key figures such as the Minister of State for Internal Security, Mr Mohamed Ali Hagaay, the Commander of the Somali Police Force, General Sulub Ahmad Firin, and the Commander of the National Security and Intelligence Service, Mr Mahad Mohamed Salad. Deputy Governors of the Banadir Regional Government and the General Secretary of the Regional Government were also present.

The primary focus of the meeting was to address the security situation in Mogadishu, particularly in light of recent events. The attendees exchanged ideas and strategies to strengthen the security of the capital, with an emphasis on coordinating the efforts of the various security agencies and district administrations.

During the meeting, the leaders and officials in attendance commended the security agencies and district administrations for their effective management of security in the capital during the holy month of Ramadan. They praised the level of collaboration and cooperation among the different branches of security, emphasizing the importance of maintaining this unity as they work to bolster security measures throughout Mogadishu.

The emergency meeting underscores the Somali government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents. By fostering collaboration between various security agencies and administrations, the government aims to create a secure environment that encourages development and prosperity in the capital and the wider region.
