(24-04-23) KISMAYO– The National Security Forces, in collaboration with the Jubbaland Darwish, conducted a joint operation in the areas of Bula Madeey and Alamgaab, Lower Jubba, targeting Al-Shabaab hideouts. The operation resulted in the destruction of the terrorist group’s positions and the death of three Al-Shabaab members.
Saleeban Muhammad Mahmoud, the Minister of Information of the Jubbaland regional government, confirmed the operation’s success during an address to the national media. He emphasized that the primary objective of the operation was to ensure the security of Jubbaland administrative areas and to continue the fight against Al-Shabaab until the group is eradicated from Lower Jubba.
The minister also announced that joint operations between the national armed forces, Jubbaland forces, and international partners will soon commence against the Khawarij and Al-Shabaab in the regions of Juba. He called upon local communities to actively participate in the mission to liberate the country from the brutal extremist group.
As the second phase of operations against the Khawarij continues across the country, several areas have been successfully liberated from Al-Shabaab terrorists. This group has plagued the Somali people for over 15 years, but recent efforts have led to their decline and the surrender of many members to national and local forces.
