(28/-05-23) MOGADISHU – Leading members of SSC Traditional Council, touched down in the Somali capital of Mogadishu on Sunday, responding to an invitation from President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
The delegation, consisting of Garaad Aabdisalam Hassan, Garaad Abdirisaaq Garaad Soofe, Garaad Jaamac Garaad Ismaaciil, and Ugaas Maxamuud Ugaas Cabdillahi, will be united with Suldaan Mustafe Awseed, who is already present in the city. Their arrival marks a potential turning point in the escalating conflict that has been troubling the region since February.
The delegates were met at the airport with a warm reception from politicians and members of the public, reflecting the heightened anticipation that surrounds their visit.
The ongoing tensions in the SSC-Khaatumo region have drawn the eyes of both local and international communities, prompting urgent calls for ceasefire and resolution. The conflict has devastated the region, costing many lives, displacing thousands, and resulting in significant loss of property.
These circumstances make the imminent talks between the Council of Garaads, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and other relevant stakeholders all the more critical.
