(08-10-23) DHUSAMAREB — Somalia Defence Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, joined by Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Kariye, toured the Harqabobe Camp in Guriceel, Galgaduud on Sunday, rallying the 27th Abu Dujana Brigade for imminent, large-scale operations against the insurgent group Al-Shabaab.
Nur explicitly directed the brigade to gear up for a robust offensive aimed at eradicating Al-Shabaab elements from their hideouts throughout the country. “The expectation is clear: to dislodge Al-Shabaab from their strongholds and cleanse the entire country of their malevolent presence,” the Defence Minister declared.
President Kariye, addressing the soldiers, said, “The promise we make today is simple but monumental: to continue the advances we’ve made and to expel Al-Shabaab from our lands permanently.”
The leaders’ visit underscores the Galmudug administration’s multi-pronged approach to tackling security challenges, with the 27th Brigade poised to play a pivotal role in the anti-insurgency campaign.
The officials’ presence and speeches are seen as a timely morale boost for the brigade, which is slated for a leading role in the impending operations against Al-Shabaab.
