(24-10-23) MOGADISHU — Top officials from Somalia’s federal government and member states convened in Dhusamareb for a crucial two-day health summit on Tuesday. The fifth instalment of the annual conference was inaugurated by President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qorqor of Galmudug State and Federal Health Minister Ali Haji Adan. Aimed at tackling the nation’s healthcare challenges, the summit will scrutinise healthcare initiatives from prior meetings held in Puntland, Jubaland, and the Banadir Region.
President Qorqor emphasised his commitment to healthcare reform, stating, “We’re focused on developing a robust healthcare framework for the benefit of the Somali community.” Minister Adan echoed these sentiments, pledging harmonised efforts between federal and regional governments to deliver essential health services. He further noted that future healthcare projects will be coordinated through regional ministries for a unified national approach.
