(13-12-23) MOGADISHU (HN) — Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre presided over a second session of the Council for Modernisation and Transformation of Somalia. He emphasised the government’s dedication to effectuating key reforms impacting the operational and performance dynamics within Somalia’s contemporary governance framework.
The session was marked by the presence of specialists from the Prime Minister’s office and representatives from 15 ministries, all of whom participated in a recent initiative in Malaysia focusing on state modernization and transformation. The Prime Minister lauded their contributions to this strategic endeavour.
In his address, Prime Minister Hamza delineated the forthcoming phases of the initiative, centring on steering government operations towards quantifiable goals and assessing the ministerial performances for the 2022–2023 period.
Furthermore, he directed the council to innovate in tracking ministerial efficiency through advanced digital solutions and to inaugurate a central facility dedicated to devising and implementing high-priority national development programs, to be overseen by a diverse pool of government experts.
