(19-12-23) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — The Puntland Non-State Actors Association (PUNSAA) and the recently constituted Puntland Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee convened for their inaugural meeting on Tuesday. A statement from PUNSAA stated, “Today marked a key meeting between the Committee for Disputes and Selection of the Puntland Parliament and us, comprising scholars, leaders of PUNSAA’s Civil Society, and the Puntland Chamber of Commerce.”
The statement further noted, “We counselled the committee to judiciously and effectively manage the adjudication process for candidates vying for the parliamentary seat.”
PUNSAA said that the Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee acknowledged guidance from scholars and input from civil society, committing to executing their duties with integrity and impartiality.
The meeting ended on a note of sustained dedication to collaborative efforts and partnership between both parties during the election process.
