(19-12-23) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — A Puntland Presidential candidate for the forthcoming 2024 elections passed away this morning due to a road accident on the main road between Bossaso and Qardho.
The candidate, Abdiaziz Mohamud Yusuf ‘Af Gudud’, was confirmed dead following the accident in the Qayaadsame area of the Bari region. He was travelling from Bossaso to Qardho, where preparations for his reception were taking place, at the time of the tragic incident.
Officials from Puntland, including government and opposition figures, have extended their condolences on the passing of Af Gudud. Puntland is preparing for its presidential elections, which will commence in early January of 2024.
