(19-12-23) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — A World Bank delegation, led by Dr. Floribert Nagaruko, Executive Director, for a group of 22 African countries, including Somalia, was received in Mogadishu on Tuesday. The Federal State Minister for Finance, Ms Raha Mohamud Janaqow, and the Director General of the Ministry of Finance were among the government officials who had received the delegation in the capital.
During a meeting with Somali businesspersons and officials from the National Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Nagaruko and the finance ministry officials highlighted key investment-ready sectors to the business leaders.
In a separate engagement, Dr. Floribert Nagaruko met with the Finance Minister, Mr. Bihi Iman Ige, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Somalia, Abdirahman Abdullahi, at the Ministry of Finance. They reviewed potential initiatives and investment prospects that the World Bank could activate in Somalia following the successful completion of the debt relief process by the government.
