(30-01-24) DHUSAMAREB (Halqabsi News) — Galmudug leader Ahmed Abdi Kariye ‘Qoorqoor’, flanked by Vice President Ali Dahir Eid and Speaker of the House Mohamed Nur Ga’al, opened the ninth session of the Galmudug regional assembly.
During the session, President Qoorqoor addressed the ongoing conflict with Al-Shabaab, a situation that has tragically claimed the lives of several Galmudug parliamentary members. He underscored the government’s commitment to eradicating the Al-Shabaab presence from Galmudug’s remaining territories.
In his address, President Qoorqoor expressed gratitude to the assembly for its substantial contributions in previous sessions and acknowledged their consistent efforts in maintaining accountability. He lauded the Parliament’s effective prioritisation of critical tasks.
Furthermore, President Qoorqoor extended his congratulations to the Galmudug state sports team for their Monday victory in the inter-regional football tournament, where they competed against teams from other regional states and the Banadir region.
