(08-01-24) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) — The Deputy Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Government of Jubaland Abshir Mohamed Abdi on Sunday headed a delegation of health officials to assess Khalil General Hospital in Baladhawo district of the expansive Gedo region.
The minister, accompanied by area legislator Deeq Isack and other local leaders, made a general inspection and assessed the condition of the hospital that serves Baladhawo and neighbouring settlements.
The ministry officials received reports from the hospital’s medical staff, collected views from the local people, and later held meetings with several health stakeholders in a move intended to improve medical service delivery.
The Minister’s tour culminated in a separate and closed-door meeting with the directors of Khalil Hospital, and the staff of the Trocaire. This local non-governmental organization manages the hospital.
