(08-01-24) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) — The president of the Federal State of Jubaland Ahmed Mohamed Islam has congratulated President Sadi Abdullahi Deni on his re-election for a second term as president of the Federal State of Puntland.
Incumbent president Deni was on Monday declared the winner of the presidential vote after garnering 45 votes following a third round of voting in a house consisting of 66 lawmakers. His close rival Guled Salah Barre received 21 votes.
President Ahmed lauded the government and the people of Puntland for their peaceful conduct throughout the electioneering period. He prayed for the well-being of the people of the region and the coutry at large wishing them peace and unity.
