(31-01-24) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni has reportedly reversed his previous decision to postpone the formation of a new government. According to news sources, President Deni has reportedly cancelled a planned overseas trip, specifically to the United Arab Emirates. Sources confirm that President Deni is now fully engaged in the process of establishing the new government, initiating consultations on the matter.
Furthermore, adhering to the agreement finalised a day earlier, President Deni is expected to reappoint military commander Jimale Takar as head of the Danab forces. The duo buried the hatchet recently, agreeing to settle their dispute over the region’s recently concluded elections. President Deni recently asked the regional assembly for a 30-day extension to establish his new cabinet, which the Parliament approved.
