(22-01-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Somali National Army (SNA), through its elite Danab Commando unit, embarked on an essential water distribution mission on Sunday for families displaced by Al-Shabaab in the Aad Town of the southern Mudug region. The 163rd unit of the 16th brigade organised and executed the noble service, providing much-needed relief to those forced from their homes.
Residents of Aad town have been enduring extreme hardships, primarily due to acute water shortage, insufficient health services, and a critical shortage of shelter. In the face of these adversities, the local people have expressed significant appreciation for the Danab Commandos’ empathetic and supportive efforts.
In their steadfast commitment to counter the threats posed by extremist groups, the Somali National Army is also invested in the welfare of its affected citizens. The water tracking campaign is but one aspect of a broader, sustained commitment by the SNA to mitigate the challenges experienced by Somali people in conflict-ridden areas.
