(02-02-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Luuq police on Thursday launched an undercover security operation against illegal drugs and substances netting an assortment of drugs, brews, and cannabis that were seized from several residential and commercial centres.
Speaking to local media Luuq District Commissioner Dahir Muhumed Noor lauded the operation by security personnel for their action against illicit drugs aimed at enhancing the security of the town, improving public health, and stopping the spread of social vice.
“The police have done a good job in conducting this operation. We are here to give them the necessary support to make sure that Luuq becomes a drug-free town” Noor said
The district commissioner said his administration in collaboration with police and residents will beef up the operation against illegal drugs in the district declaring an all-out war against dealers and users.
“The use of drugs is associated with a lot of social vices which we must fight. They come will lots of problems like insecurity, gender and domestic violence and other social problems” The commissioner said.
Local authorities have vowed to take legal action against anyone who is found selling or in possession of illegal drugs in the district that now taking bold steps in the fight against modern social menace.
