(28-02-24) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni is slated to announce a new council of ministers later today. The deadline for the 30-day extension granted for the formation of a Cabinet is set to expire today, 28 February 2024.
Reports suggest that the new council will be more extensive than its predecessor, incorporating additional ministries created through the separation of existing ones.
Further reports suggest that several ministers from President Deni’s initial tenure are expected to return in the new lineup. President Deni secured a five-year term following his victory in the Puntland elections held on 8 January.
