(05-03-24) JOWHAR (Halqabsi News) — In response to mounting concerns over power distribution and local government functionality, President Ali Abdullahi Hussein Guudlawe of Hirshabelle has reshuffled several key ministerial positions within his administration on a degree released on Tuesday.
The cabinet changes come after an outcry from communities within the Hirshabelle region regarding the previous allocation of ministerial responsibilities. Tensions had also been exacerbated by recent complaints surrounding the conditions of the local council building in Jowhar town.
In a decisive move aimed at quelling discontent and fostering a more inclusive governance structure, the President has appointed new ministers to pivotal roles:
- Mohamud Abdi Ali – Minister of Planning & International Cooperation,
- Sa’id Hagar Amalow – Minister of Education & Treasury Education,
- Abdifatah Hassan Farah – Minister of Labor & Social Affairs,
- Mohamud Sheikh Ali Salat – Minister of Posts, Communications & Technology, and
- Zakaria Khalid Abdi – Minister of Commerce and Industry.
The reshuffle represents a step by President Guudlawe to address the grievances aired by his constituents and to ensure a more balanced representation within his administration. The move is widely seen as an attempt to enhance efficiency and promote a more collaborative approach to governance in Hirshabelle.
