(05-03-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The General Road Safety Division, led by Brigadier General Bishar Abshir Gedi, has launched new road safety patrols and signage across Mogadishu, starting with the Shaqaalaha intersection. The initiative aims to reduce traffic incidents and enhance pedestrian safety in the capital. “We are determined to implement various road safety signs at all intersections in the capital,” said Gedi, highlighting the campaign’s focus on public safety.
The traffic department has been actively painting pedestrian lines, stop signs, and other critical safety indicators along the Maka Al-Mukarama Road. This effort is part of a broader move to ensure clearer navigation for motorists and pedestrians, addressing the city’s high-traffic challenges.
Brigadier General Gedi has urged all Somali citizens to adhere to the new road safety measures to help reduce accidents and protect community life and property. The campaign marks a significant step in Mogadishu’s commitment to improving road safety and reducing traffic-related fatalities.
