(04-03-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — British Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis, hosted the United Nations Special Representative to the Secretary-General, Catriona Laing, and visiting Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office of the United Kingdom, Philip Barton, for a meeting in Mogadishu on Monday. According to Ambassador Nithavrianakis, the meeting focused on a wid-range of discussions on the ongoing security transition in Somalia, among other major issues facing the nation.
The British Ambassador emphasised the importance of partner coordination in the quest to achieve a secure and stable Somalia for all its citizens. Mr Barton has been on a working visit to Mogadishu in the past few days, meeting with Somali leadership, including Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.
