(24-07-2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Second Deputy Speaker of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, along with members of both Houses of Parliament, welcomed a delegation led by the Speaker of the East African Community, Joseph Ntakirutimana, to Mogadishu today.
Speaking to the media, Mr Ntakirutimana expressed his pleasure at visiting Somalia and outlined plans to hold meetings with the parliamentary committee and members of both Houses during his stay.
Mr Abshirow confirmed that the visit was in response to an official invitation from the Somali Parliament’s committee. He revealed that the Somali Parliament is selecting members to represent Somalia in the East African Community Parliament.
The Speaker of the East African Community Parliament is accompanied on his trip by Member of Parliament Iman Falhada Dekow, John N. Mutega (Deputy Treasurer of the East African Community Parliament), and Nicodemus Ajak (from the public relations department).
