(03-07-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – A roadside bomb explosion in Mogadishu’s Suuqa Xoolaha (Livestock Market) neighbourhood has injured three soldiers and narrowly missed a senior military officer.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, targeting Major Ali Hashi as he was travelling to work.
Speaking to Shabelle TV, Major Hashi confirmed that he escaped unharmed, but three of his bodyguards were injured in the blast, which also destroyed his vehicle.
“The evil men conspired and planted a mine explosion to target us while I was on my way to work,” he said. “The force of the explosion was significant, and three of my soldiers were injured.”
The major added that he and his bodyguards sustained minor injuries and are now in good condition.
This attack comes after a period of relative calm in the Somali capital, where security forces have been conducting regular operations to maintain stability.
