(26 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, met with the new Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Wang Yu, on Sunday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Mogadishu. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations, with both officials reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Ambassador Wang Yu also visited the House of the People, where he briefed Speaker Adan Madobe on recent developments in China-Somalia relations. Speaker Madobe praised China’s contributions to Somalia’s peace and development efforts and expressed his support for the new ambassador.
Ambassador Wang Yu described the discussions as fruitful, noting that both sides agreed to strengthen exchanges between their legislative bodies and enhance the friendship between the two nations. Ambassador Wang Yu recently presented his credentials to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, marking the beginning of his diplomatic mission in the Horn of Africa nation.
