(05 Aug 2024) GALKAYO (Halqabsi News) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni, accompanied by members of his government, embarked on a land trip from Garowe to Galkayo this morning. The President’s journey includes planned stopovers in Burtinle, Nugal region, where he will meet with local elders and intellectuals to assess the situation in the area before continuing to Galkayo.

In Galkayo, President Deni will engage in discussions with Mudug elders and intellectuals. His visit coincides with a prison break in Galkayo last night involving three Al-Shabaab convicts who remain at large, although some have been re-arrested. The President’s trip is expected to address both local governance issues and the broader security situation.
