(16 Sep 2024) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) – Jubaland’s First Deputy Prisdent, Mohamud Sayid Adan has formed a new committee to support the region’s security forces, following a decision from the state’s cabinet. The committee will be tasked with providing logistical and financial assistance to strengthen Jubaland’s military capabilities.
The committee includes key ministries such as Justice, Internal Security, Finance, and Health, as well as the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy, and the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport. The appointment was formalised after being signed by DP Adan.
The move comes as Jubaland engages in a military offensive against Al-Shabaab in parts of Lower Juba and Gedo regions, hence the efforts by the regional administration to sustain the military’s welfare
