According to the Ministry of Defence, the operation resulted in the elimination of three prominent Al-Shabaab leaders and left two others wounded. The SNA highlighted that this precise strike underscores its commitment to dismantling Al-Shabaab’s leadership and restoring security across the region.
“The Somali National Army remains steadfast in its mission to eradicate Al-Shabaab and restore peace and stability for the people of Somalia,” the Ministry of Defence stated, reaffirming the government’s resolve in countering extremist threats within the country.
The Mudug region has been a focal point of ongoing efforts to destabilise Al-Shabaab operations, with SNA and allied forces intensifying actions aimed at reducing the group’s influence and operational capability in central Somalia.
