(29 Oct 2024) BELEDWEYNE (Halqabsi News) – An explosion has rocked Beledweyne’s Howl-Wadaag district, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to seven others. The blast, which occurred in a popular restaurant often frequented by young people, caused panic and severe damage in the vicinity.
Medical teams are treating the injured at local hospitals, and security forces promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Although investigations are underway, authorities have not yet detained any suspects connected to the attack.
This incident has raised further concerns over the city’s deteriorating security situation. Just last night, a National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) soldier was fatally attacked by gunmen in Beledweyne’s Koshin neighbourhood, where the assailants reportedly seized his weapon.
The escalating violence in Beledweyne has stressed the urgent need for enhanced security measures as residents grapple with increasing threats in their daily lives.
